Energy efficiency criteria vary dependant for each product category and Manufacturere's Certification Statement required.
Products must be placed in service by Dec. 31, 2010 except for installation of renewable engery generation systems in effect through 2016.
A tax credit is more valuable than an quivalent tax deduction as a credit reduces your tax dollar-for -dollar where as a deduction removes a percentage of the tax that is owed. Thereofore $1,500 can be subratcted directly form the amount of tax that is owed or added to a tax refund.
