SUMMER CAMPS IN WESTERN MAINE
Outdoor Adventure Camp 2007
Hike up a different mountain each week, learn to cast a fly rod or mountain bike along a wilderness path. These are just a few of the challenges kids can explore at the Outdoor Adventure Camp. Outdoor Adventure Camp is about haivng fun, making friends and trying new things. The program is designed to enrich children's lives in many different ways through many different programs. There is something for everyone. Campers have the opportunity to take golf lessons at the presitgious Sugarloaf Golf course, learn how to cast during fly-fishing instruction, improve swimming abilities or showcase their singing abilities at a talent show. Each week brings a different field trip - attend a play at the Lakewood Theatre in Madison or spend at day at the Attitash Alpine slide for example. Carrabassett Valley is surrounded by several 4,000 foot peaks and campers will enjoy the challenge of climbing a different peak each week. The program developes campers' skills in all the summer activites availble to do in the mountains and lakes of Western Maine and strives to bolster their self esteem, social skils and confidence. The main goal of the program is to create lasting memories and help campers to better "live in the outside." Open to children ages 4-13 the program also includes swim instruction and pool safety. Weekly overnight camping trips to special destinations are also offered at an additional cost. For additional information call 237-6909.
Dates: Camp runs for 6 weeks, Monday through Friday , from mid July to late August. Campers can participate for single days or by the week. Reservations are required. Same day enrollment depends on space.
Trampoline & Skate Camp - An excellent way for skiers and snowboarders ages 8-14 to sharpen winter skills during off season. Train with CVA coaches to increase skill level and improve confidence while hanging out with friends and having summer fun.

"Seeds of Discovery" - Carrabassett Valley Preschool Nature Awareness Program.For children 3 to 6, July 17, 18 & 19 from 9 a.m. to noon. Directed by CVP teacher Andie DeBiase, the program is designed to provide awareness and respect for nature by exploring and discovering our world. Lakewood Theater Young Performers Camp - Madison, ME (207) 474-7176
Offers children the opportunity to grow creatively in a professional theater setting at the nation's oldest summer theater. Open to youth 6 to 16 who want to learn theater craft. Instruction in acting, improvisation, movement, stage make-up, costuming, set construction, voice, dance and auditioning along learning team and decision makings skills. Every camper performs in costume and make-up with a public performance at the end of the session.
Sessions are held Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a public performance on Saturday. Lunch and recreation is provided every day.
Beginning July 2: Teens, Tech &Tour "We the People the musical" for 15 students 13 and up interested in technial aspects of theatre
Beginning July 30 & August 6: Act One - "A Pirates LIfe for Me!" for youth ages 10 and up.
Beginning Augsut 13 and August 20: Act Two - "Through the Looking Glass" for youth ages 6 and up.

For children ages 8 to 13 presented by the Sandy River Players and directed by Christie Robinson. This summer's project is "Annie, Jr." Campers will learn about all aspects of musical theatre and all campers will have a singing and speaking role in a performance.

Bible Camps:
Bible Adventure Days - Sugarloaf Area Christian Ministry. Youth kindergarten through high school. June 18 to 20. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dick Bell Chapel, Sugarloaf/USA. "Sonforce Agency" First Baptist Church, Kingfield - June 18 - 22. 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Participants will "travel the universe and work to become Sonforce Agents." Participants will meet the crew of the Sonforce spaceship and learn about Bible characters while on their space travels.
